Seth J. Marks, ESQ.

Seth J. Marks has been a practicing Virginia attorney since 2007 and has been working in the legal field since 2003 in varying capacities.  Prior to joining Pagano & Marks, Seth spent nearly two years as an associate with Main Street Law Offices with his practice concentrating exclusively in representing debtors in consumer bankruptcy.  After passing the Virginia Bar Exam in 2007, Seth began practicing law as an associate with Cravens & Noll, P.C., representing clients in a variety of legal matters, from simple and complex civil litigation to Separation/Property Settlements, Uncontested and Contested Divorces, Custody, Visitation, Support and Adoption cases to Criminal, Traffic, Consumer Bankruptcy, Wills and Estates to Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury.

Seth currently specializes in consumer Chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy debtor work specifically representing clients in asset/no-asset liquidation bankruptcy and in financial reorganization/repayment bankruptcy.  Seth’s area of expertise is in not only stopping foreclosures and garnishments, but also in tax relief, and financial counseling.

Seth attended St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida and received his Juris Doctor in 2007.  During law school Seth was a merit scholarship recipient for academic achievement, was named to the Dean’s List, and received the “Book Award” in Pre-Trial Practice.  Seth was the Executive Board Vice-President of the Moot Court Honor Society and competed at the National Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition at Regent University School of Law in 2006 and coached a team to the Octo-Final Round of the Evan A. Evans National Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition at the University of Wisconsin in 2007.  Seth was also elected by the student body to the Election Committee of the Student Bar Association and was elected by both faculty and the student body to be a member of the Honor Council & Academic Integrity Committee.

While in law school, Seth served as a law clerk for Stiles, Taylor & Grace, P.C., a Worker’s Compensation Insurance Defense law firm.  He also participated in an Appellate Litigation Clinic at the Miami-Dade Office of the Public Defender Appellate Division, drafting criminal appellate briefs and giving oral argument to the 3rd District Court of Appeal.  During this time, Seth received the first State Confession of Error on appeal of a Motion to Suppress in the State of Florida in the previous five years.

Seth received a B.S. in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002 where he graduated cum laude (with honors) and was named to the Dean’s List.  Seth also received the 2002 NASPE Outstanding Major of the Year Award for VCU.
